Ivor Stephenson

Sadly back in June 2016 one our busiest and most hard-working members Ivor Stephenson passed away after a long illness. He served as the chairman for three years and then as vice-president. He was also responsible for initiating the link with our twin town in Normandy, St Sauveur Lendelin.

It was not by chance that under Ivor’s influence that the Association grew; that was very much due to the hard work and enthusiasm, which both Ivor and his wife Judith invested in the venture. Ivor was kind, generous, hard working and very good company; we shall miss him very much.

He will however be remembered as the donor and maker of a small trophy for our annual boules match against Redditch. Appropriately, it will be known as the Ivor Stephenson Trophy.
